Reese is Officially ONE 9/9/08

We celebrated Reese's first birthday yesterday and now, it's sad and exciting to say that our baby is 1!!! I felt like all day yesterday Reese responded to me and everything for that matter in a different way, a more grown up way. Reese is the most delicate, special, pure, innocent, most beautiful gift that God has given us! We are so blessed and so thankful for this first year that's concluded and we look forward to what the new year for Reese will bring.
Reese has accomplished so many new achievements from rolling over to crawling to walking, and from speaking in baby language to actually making out a few words, from just starring at her toys to actually being skillful with them while she plays, from having no need to throw a temper tantrum to having the need to do so often, from eating baby cereal to eating anything she wants, from having to be fed to wanting to feed herself, from sitting in the carseat backwards to facing forwards, from having hair for bows to having no hair for bows to having hair again for bows (thank goodness because I love bows).......the list goes on and on.....It seems like yesterday our little girl entered into this world. It's amazing all of the accomplishments that have been achieved in such a short period of time and needless to say, we are SO proud of our little angel!

Happy Happy Birthday Precious Baby Reese!!!
Reese celebrated with her very own, very first birthday cake. She was so careful and clean when she ate it. I think that might be a first in all of baby history. She's the girliest girl, which makes for some adorable cake eating pictures!
Here is Reese's very first birthday cake. It was the cutest little mini cake I think I've ever seen! Perfect for Reese's first birthday!
Another view of the beautiful and delicious pink and white cake.
Reese is getting situated in her highchair for her birthday song and most importantly, cake.

"Daddy, that's my cake! Let me have it please!"

"What is going on here? Why is everyone singing to me? These people are silly!"
"Yummy! CAKE! Need cake now...."
I love how Reese just used the tips of her fingers to grab a piece of cake. How precious!
And, Reese was such the little sharer! What a sweet little girl!!

She tried to get a little bit bigger piece so it was necessary to use a little more pressure, use more of her hands, and stick her tongue out in the process!

Yummy Cake!
While Reese was looking away and hand-feeding herself cake, Daddy went in for a big bite!!

I love this picture! How cute is it that Reese decides to lick her cake! I think maybe she did it to save her hands from getting any more messy and just to get icing. Smart girl!
Today, we will be helping Reese move into her new room and new house. That's just one of her birthday presents. She is so excited that she woke up early this morning and is anxiously waiting for closing time!!
